Heaven on Earth Cake

Cake, Cream Cheese, Milk, Sour Cream | 0 comments

Ingredients:
1 package angel food cake (or 1 prepared angel food cake)
1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup sour cream
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese (softened)
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping (thawed)
Almond slices for garnish (optional)
Directions:
Prepare the angel food cake according to package directions, or use a pre-made angel food cake. Allow to cool completely.
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the vanilla pudding mix and milk. Stir until the pudding thickens.
In a separate bowl, blend together the sour cream, softened cream cheese, and powdered sugar until smooth.
Gently fold the pudding mixture into the cream cheese mixture, creating a creamy, smooth filling.
Once the angel food cake has cooled, cut it into small cubes and place them into a large serving dish or trifle bowl.
Spread half of the cream mixture over the cake cubes, then top with half of the cherry pie filling.
Repeat the layers with the remaining cake, cream mixture, and cherry filling.
Spread the whipped topping evenly over the top of the cake. Garnish with almond slices if desired.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to allow the flavors to meld together and set.
Serve chilled and enjoy!
