Cinnamon-Sugar Air Fryer Banana Chips

Ingredients:
3 ripe but firm bananas
1 tablespoon lemon juice (to prevent browning)
1 tablespoon melted coconut oil (or olive oil)
2 tablespoons granulated sugar (or coconut sugar for a healthier option)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, for added flavor)
A pinch of salt
Directions:
Prepare the Bananas: Peel the bananas and slice them into thin rounds, about 1/8 inch thick. Place the banana slices in a large bowl.
Prevent Browning: Drizzle the lemon juice over the banana slices and gently toss to coat, preventing them from browning.
Make the Cinnamon-Sugar Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. If using, add the vanilla extract to the melted coconut oil and mix well.
Coat the Banana Slices: Pour the coconut oil mixture over the banana slices and toss gently to coat. Then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the bananas and toss again until evenly coated.
Air Fry the Banana Chips: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Arrange the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they don’t overlap. You may need to do this in batches.
Cook: Air fry the banana chips for 10-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking. Keep an eye on them towards the end to prevent burning. They should be golden and crispy when done.
Cool and Serve: Remove the banana chips from the air fryer and let them cool completely. They will become crispier as they cool. Enjoy these delicious, healthy snacks on their own or as a topping for yogurt or oatmeal!
