Homemade Turtle Candy with Pecans and Caramel

12 ounces soft caramels (homemade or store-bought)
6 ounces pecan halves, toasted
8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
1. Prepare a cookie sheet by covering it with aluminum foil or parchment paper and spraying with nonstick cooking spray.
2. Arrange the pecans in clusters of 4, with each pecan pointing outward like turtle legs.
3. Unwrap the caramels and place them in a microwave-safe bowl. If needed, add a spoonful of water for softer caramel. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring each time until fully melted.
4. Let the caramel cool slightly, then spoon a small amount over each pecan cluster. The candy will have a rustic look, so don't worry about perfect shapes.
5. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave or using a double boiler.
6. Spoon the melted chocolate over the caramel, allowing it to drip down the sides and fully cover the caramel.
7. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to set the candies.
8. For best results, serve the turtle candies at room temperature. Store extras in an airtight container in the fridge or a cool room for up to two weeks.
